Common Questions

Everything you need to know about Artist Aliases

What are artist aliases?

Artist aliases let you, as an individual artist or group, release music under multiple stage names from one account. Each alias has its own releases, biolinks, and branding. This is for one person or group managing multiple artist identities - not for sharing accounts between different people.

How many artist aliases can I create?

You can create unlimited artist aliases with your Kinjari subscription. There's no limit on how many different artist names you can release music under. All included at no extra cost.

Can each artist alias have its own biolink?

Yes, each artist alias gets its own dedicated biolink page at kinjari.me/artistname. You can customize each one independently with different branding, design templates, links, and content. Each biolink acts as a separate landing page for that artist identity.

How are royalties handled with multiple aliases?

All royalties from all your artist aliases go into one account balance. You'll see your total earnings across all your artist names in one place, making withdrawals simple and straightforward.

Do I need to pay extra for additional artist aliases?

No. Artist aliases are included free with your $3/month Kinjari subscription. Unlike some distributors who charge per artist or require higher tier plans, we include unlimited aliases at no additional cost.

How do I choose which artist to release under?

When uploading a release, you simply select the artist name from a dropdown menu. All your artist aliases are available in one account - no switching profiles or logging in and out needed.

Can I move releases between artist aliases?

Releases are permanently associated with the artist alias they were created under. If you need to change the artist name on a release, you would need to take down the original and re-release it under the new alias (which may affect stream counts and playlists).

What happens to my aliases if I cancel my subscription?

All your music stays live on streaming platforms forever, even if you cancel. Each artist alias continues to exist and collect royalties. You just won't be able to release new music until you reactivate your subscription.

Can I use artist aliases for collaboration projects?

Yes, artist aliases are perfect for collaboration projects, supergroups, or any music released under a name that isn't your primary artist identity. Create an alias for the collaboration and manage it alongside your other projects.

Can I share my account with other artists or use it for a label?

No. Artist Aliases are designed for one individual artist or group to manage their own multiple stage names. Kinjari accounts are not intended to be shared between different people. Each artist should have their own account. If you're a label, check out our label services.
