**DistroKid currently charges $9.99 a month for Beatport distribution.** It is an account-wide Album Extra for eligible electronic releases, not a $9.99 charge on every single or album. Once it is enabled, DistroKid says it covers past and future electronic releases for every artist on that account. Price checked 5 September 2026 against the [DistroKid Help Center](https://support.distrokid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015641853-Sending-Your-Electronic-Music-to-Beatport).

Over a full year, that is $119.88 on top of your DistroKid plan. For a solo artist on the $24.99 Musician plan, the basic fixed total is $144.87 a year before tax and any other Album Extras.

Is the $9.99 fee per release or per account?
--------------------------------------------

Per account. DistroKid describes the extra as unlimited Beatport delivery for all artists on the account. You do not pay another $9.99 each time you upload a track, and you do not need to buy it separately for every artist slot.

DistroKid calls it an Album Extra and shows it while you are working on an eligible release, which can make it look release-based. Its current help page is clear that buying it once unlocks Beatport for eligible past and future electronic releases across the account.

One track a year and 30 tracks a year both carry the same $119.88 Beatport charge. Your DistroKid plan, artist slots and other extras can still change the full bill.

What genres qualify?
--------------------

DistroKid requires the release to use the Electronic genre and an appropriate electronic subgenre. Once those are selected, the Beatport Unlimited Uploads option appears with the other extras.

Beatport’s own catalogue is wider and more detailed than one broad “electronic” shelf. Its current accepted list includes established dance genres such as Afro House, Amapiano, Drum & Bass, Dubstep, House, Tech House, Techno and Trance, along with newer Open Format categories. Beatport published an expanded genre list in April 2026. Check the [current Beatport genres](https://greenroomsupport.beatport.com/hc/en-us/articles/46017219730836-Beatport-Genres-Including-NEW-Open-Format-Genres).

Do not assume every category on Beatport’s supplier list will appear in DistroKid’s upload form. The store decides what it accepts; the distributor decides which choices it can deliver. DistroKid’s stated route is still Electronic plus a suitable subgenre.

Beatport also curates its catalogue. A delivery can be reassigned to a different genre, and not every track is guaranteed a chart position, feature or editorial placement. Paying the distributor fee gets an eligible release delivered. It does not buy promotion.

What you get for $9.99 a month
------------------------------

The extra adds Beatport as a destination for eligible releases. DistroKid says it applies to:

- all artists on the DistroKid account;
- electronic releases already in the account; and
- future eligible electronic releases while the extra is active.

It is not a Beatport Streaming subscription for DJs, a Beatport artist account or a label management agreement. It is the distribution route used to deliver your masters and metadata to the store.

Your release still has to pass DistroKid’s checks and Beatport’s content rules. Beatport’s June 2026 policy asks for accepted genres, professional mixes and masters, and suitable audio. It rejects material such as ringtones, low-quality background content and AI-generated music. The store currently accepts WAV, AIFF and FLAC in 16- or 24-bit, up to 48 kHz. See Beatport’s [content policy](https://greenroomsupport.beatport.com/hc/en-us/articles/19093504988820-Content-Policy).

What happens to existing releases?
----------------------------------

You do not have to re-upload the whole catalogue. DistroKid says enabling the extra makes Beatport available for eligible past releases as well as future ones.

That does not mean every old release will appear instantly or automatically qualify. Its genre data still needs to fit DistroKid’s Beatport route. Older metadata may need checking, and store processing adds its own wait after DistroKid sends the delivery.

Before turning the extra on, list the electronic releases you expect to see. After delivery, check the release pages, artist mapping, label credit, genres and track versions on Beatport. A delivery reaching the store is not the same as every field landing exactly where you expected.

The annual Beatport cost
------------------------

**$9.99 × 12 = $119.88 per year.**

DistroKid setupPlanBeatport extraFixed annual total1 artist, Musician$24.99$119.88$144.87Up to 2 artists, Musician Plus$44.99$119.88$164.875+ artists, UltimateFrom $89.99$119.88From $209.87These are current US list prices from [DistroKid’s pricing page](https://distrokid.com/pricing/), before tax. Ultimate pricing rises with the number of artist slots. Currency conversion, local tax and future price changes can alter what appears at checkout.

The table excludes optional extras such as cover-song licensing, Dolby Atmos, Social Media Pack, Store Maximizer and Leave a Legacy. If you are cancelling DistroKid or [switching music distributors](/blog/switch-music-distributors), plan those extras into the move. It also assumes the Beatport extra remains active for all 12 months.

Can you pay for one month?
--------------------------

DistroKid states a monthly price, but the useful budget is the annual one. If Beatport matters to your catalogue all year, plan on $119.88 rather than treating it as a ten-dollar upload charge.

Before attempting a short subscription, check the current cancellation screen and what it says will happen to already delivered Beatport releases. DistroKid’s public help articles explain the price and account-wide coverage, but they do not turn a one-month payment into a promised lifetime Beatport delivery.

Stop-start access also makes release planning messy. Beatport delivery is most useful when it is part of a stable release process, not switched on the night before every master is due.

DistroKid vs Kinjari Beatport pricing
-------------------------------------

QuestionDistroKid[Kinjari Artist](/music-distribution)Kinjari LabelFixed pricePlan + $9.99/month Beatport[$3/month](/music-distribution)$39/monthFixed annual totalFrom $144.87$36$468Beatport includedNo, paid Album ExtraYesYesRoyalty shareArtist keeps 100%Artist keeps 90%Label keeps 90%Release limitUnlimitedUnlimitedUnlimitedBest fitArtists or small rosters valuing 100% royaltiesSolo artist wanting a low fixed Beatport costLabel needing roster workflow and its own Beatport label setupKinjari includes [Beatport distribution](/beatport-distribution) in the [$3 monthly Artist plan](/music-distribution). That brings the fixed annual price down to $36, with artists keeping 90% of royalties while the subscription is active. Full plan details are on the [pricing page](/pricing).

DistroKid has the opposite shape: the fixed cost is higher once Beatport is added, but it says artists keep 100% of distribution earnings. High revenue can outweigh the subscription difference.

The Kinjari Label plan costs $468 a year and is built for labels that want roster management, support and a custom Beatport label setup in one place. Compare the workflow and label tools as well as the subscription figure.

What a solo EDM artist actually pays
------------------------------------

Imagine one artist releasing six tracks a year, all eligible for Beatport.

On DistroKid Musician: $24.99 for the plan plus $119.88 for Beatport = $144.87 fixed, and the artist keeps 100% of distribution royalties.

On Kinjari Artist: $36 a year with Beatport included, and the artist keeps 90% while active.

The fixed-cost gap is $108.87. Ten per cent of $1,088.70 is also $108.87, so that is the rough annual break-even before tax and other features: below it, Kinjari has the lower combined cost; above it, DistroKid’s fixed fee can be cheaper.

Real decisions are wider than two numbers. Check whether you need custom release dates, multiple artist names, royalty splits, label credits, store coverage outside Beatport or other DistroKid extras.

What a prolific producer pays
-----------------------------

Now imagine one producer releasing two tracks a month. DistroKid’s Beatport price remains $119.88 a year because it is not per release. The fixed total on Musician is still $144.87.

Kinjari Artist also remains $36 a year, with Beatport already included. Release pace does not change either fixed subscription.

This is one place where DistroKid’s Beatport add-on is fairly priced. A prolific artist pays the same as an occasional one and keeps 100% of distribution royalties. The pain point is the size of the account-level fee relative to the entry plan, not a fee multiplying across releases.

What a small EDM label actually pays
------------------------------------

Take a five-artist label with 30 electronic releases a year.

DistroKid Ultimate starts at $89.99 a year for five or more artists. Add Beatport and the fixed total starts at $209.87. Beatport covers all artists on the account, and DistroKid keeps no percentage of distribution royalties.

Kinjari’s [Label plan](/music-distribution-for-independent-labels) costs $468 a year and includes Beatport, unlimited releases, roster management and a custom Beatport label setup. Kinjari keeps 10% of royalties while active.

DistroKid has the lower fixed subscription in this five-artist example. Kinjari Label offers a different kind of value: a custom Beatport label setup, roster workflow and support under one plan. For a label that would otherwise piece those jobs together, the broader setup can be worth more than the subscription gap.

Look past the artist-slot headline as well. Check what happens when the roster grows, how staff access works, whether splits can be changed, whose label name appears at Beatport, how statements are exported and how takedowns are handled. Those operational costs can dwarf a subscription.

Other Beatport distributors to consider
---------------------------------------

### TuneCore

TuneCore’s current Beatport help page lists a $9.99 monthly fee billed annually on top of an Unlimited plan. The fee covers all releases, although existing titles must be opted in individually. TuneCore also says releases appear under the label name “TuneCore” and that Beatport delivery can take about seven days. Read TuneCore’s [current Beatport guidance](https://support.tunecore.com/hc/en-ca/articles/14208503709972-Beatport).

That can suit an artist already using TuneCore who wants one account-wide Beatport charge. It is less attractive to a label that needs its own imprint displayed.

### LANDR

LANDR makes Beatport access application-based. Its current guidance requires a qualifying yearly plan, at least one live LANDR release and evidence of an established or growing audience. Approved releases use the label name “LANDR-Self Released”. See [LANDR’s Beatport criteria](https://support.landr.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000199987-Can-I-release-my-music-to-Beatport-with-LANDR-Distribution).

This can work for an existing LANDR subscriber with traction. It is not the most predictable route for a new producer who needs Beatport confirmed before planning a launch.

### Ditto Music

Ditto supports electronic delivery to Beatport through its Beatport Distribution and Label Setup process. Its help centre says you need a Beatport label before releasing. It does not state a public price in that article, so check the live account or ask support rather than relying on an old comparison table.

Ditto is worth a look when establishing a label identity matters. Get the setup cost, approval process, label ownership and renewal terms in writing before moving a catalogue.

Price is not the only Beatport question
---------------------------------------

For a streaming-only release, the distributor can feel almost invisible. Beatport exposes more of the dance-music release structure: label names, subgenres, remix credits, DJ-facing formats and store charts all matter.

Before choosing a distributor, ask:

- Will the release show my label name or the distributor’s?
- Can it deliver the exact Beatport genre and subgenre I need?
- Does Beatport require an application or audience review?
- Are past releases included, and how are they opted in?
- Can I set pre-orders or exclusives?
- How are remixer, mix-version and contributor credits handled?
- Who contacts Beatport if a genre or artist profile is wrong?
- What happens to the Beatport delivery if I cancel?

A $20 saving is not a saving if three releases land under the wrong artist, carry the wrong label credit or miss the date a DJ campaign is built around.

A sensible way to decide
------------------------

1. Count how many Beatport-eligible releases you expect this year.
2. Add DistroKid’s plan, the $119.88 Beatport extra and any other Album Extras you use.
3. Estimate annual catalogue royalties conservatively.
4. Compare that total with percentage-based alternatives such as Kinjari over one to three years.
5. Check the non-price differences: label name on Beatport, genre control, roster tools, support and migration.

Frequently asked questions
--------------------------

### How much does DistroKid charge for Beatport?

$9.99 a month, equal to $119.88 over 12 months, on top of the DistroKid membership.

### Is DistroKid Beatport pricing per release?

No. DistroKid says one Beatport Album Extra covers unlimited eligible releases for all artists on the account.

### Does it cover releases already on DistroKid?

Yes, DistroKid says the extra makes Beatport available for eligible past and future electronic releases. Existing metadata and genre eligibility still need checking.

### Can any genre go to Beatport through DistroKid?

No. DistroKid requires the Electronic genre and a suitable subgenre. Beatport’s own accepted catalogue expanded in 2026, but the choices offered by DistroKid govern what you can send through that route.

### Does paying guarantee a Beatport feature or chart position?

No. The fee pays for distribution access. Beatport controls its catalogue, genres, charts and editorial choices.

### Does every artist on a DistroKid label account need the extra?

No. DistroKid says the one account-level add-on covers all artists on that account.

### Is Kinjari always cheaper for Beatport?

Kinjari Artist starts $108.87 lower in fixed annual costs than DistroKid Musician with Beatport. DistroKid’s 100% royalty model can suit some higher-earning accounts, while Kinjari keeps the upfront and release-planning cost much lower.

### How long does Beatport delivery take?

It varies by distributor and store. Leave a buffer rather than booking promotion around the quickest estimate. TuneCore currently quotes about seven days; other distributors and manual checks can take longer.

**Kinjari includes Beatport distribution in its $3 monthly Artist plan.** [See how Beatport distribution works](/beatport-distribution).
