**Kinjari is the best music distributor for most independent EDM artists.** For $3 a month, you get Beatport, Volumo, YouTube Content ID, unlimited releases and unlimited artist aliases. You don't have to buy a separate Beatport add-on or move to a more expensive plan when you release under another name.

The alternatives package specific parts of the job differently. LANDR bundles mastering with distribution. Label Engine focuses on label administration. DistroKid uses a fixed-fee, 100% royalty model, while RouteNote offers a no-upfront-cost route to the main streaming services. Those differences are worth understanding before you pay, but Kinjari remains the strongest all-round EDM option.

- **Best overall for EDM and Beatport artists:** Kinjari
- **Best-value Beatport access:** Kinjari
- **Mastering-led alternative:** LANDR Studio
- **Label-operations alternative:** Label Engine
- **Fixed-fee alternative:** DistroKid
- **No-upfront-cost alternative:** RouteNote Free

Compare EDM music distributors by what you actually need
--------------------------------------------------------

The right choice starts with your release plan. Do you need Beatport? Are you releasing under several aliases? Are you running a label, or just trying to get one finished single onto Spotify? Start there, then compare the price attached to the features you will actually use.

### You need Beatport without another subscription

**Kinjari is the straightforward choice.** You get Beatport on the $3 monthly Artist plan and the $39 monthly Label plan. On the Artist plan, your releases appear under the Kinjari label name. On the Label plan, you can apply for your own branded Beatport label. DistroKid adds $9.99 a month for Beatport. LANDR requires an eligible annual plan, a live LANDR release and approval. Label Engine includes Beatport for approved labels, while RouteNote does not list it on its current public partner page.

If Beatport is central to your release plan, Kinjari gives you the lowest predictable subscription cost here. A full year is $36, and there is no separate Beatport bill waiting behind the base price.

### You want Volumo as well as the major streaming services

With Kinjari, you get Volumo alongside Beatport and the main streaming platforms. None of the other distributors in this group currently lists Volumo. The same Artist subscription covers more than 100 services, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music.

That matters if you make music for DJs but still want the reach of mainstream streaming. You upload once rather than splitting the release between a general distributor and a separate electronic-store service.

### You release under more than one artist name

The Artist plan gives you unlimited artist aliases. You can release techno under one name and ambient music under another without moving to a higher tier.

DistroKid prices accounts by artist slots: one artist on Musician, two on Musician Plus and five or more on Ultimate. LANDR, Label Engine and RouteNote do not publish the same simple slot ladder, so check how each service wants your aliases or roster structured before you move a catalogue.

### You want YouTube Content ID included

You get [YouTube Content ID](/youtube-contentid) with either paid plan. LANDR includes it on Distribution Pro and relevant Studio plans. Label Engine offers Content ID and passes 80% of that revenue to the artist or label. DistroKid sells its Social Media Pack per release and passes 80% of matched advertising revenue. Eligible original music can use RouteNote Content ID on Free or Premium.

Content ID eligibility still depends on the music. Non-exclusive beats, uncleared samples and other material you cannot claim exclusively may be rejected whichever distributor you use.

### You are running a label

On the $39 monthly Label plan, you can manage a catalogue of up to 200 tracks before track-based pricing begins. It includes unlimited team members, artist submission approvals, royalty split reporting, advance and recoupment tools, a custom Beatport label application, Volumo and 100GB of storage.

Label Engine is the closest label-focused alternative, with accounting, statements, demo management and promo tools instead of a subscription fee. It keeps 17.5% of distribution revenue. DistroKid Ultimate supports multiple artists and splits, while LANDR and RouteNote cover the distribution basics without the same depth of label workflow.

### You want the catalogue to stay online if you stop paying

Your existing releases stay live when the paid subscription ends. LANDR also keeps releases live after cancellation. DistroKid says releases may be removed when membership payments stop unless you buy Leave a Legacy for each release. RouteNote Free does not rely on an annual subscription to keep a Free release online. Label Engine does not make a simple permanence promise on its public pricing page, so confirm that point in the agreement.

This is easy to ignore when you have one single. It becomes expensive admin when you have 60 releases, several aliases and years of playlist links attached to the catalogue.

### You care about the full annual bill

If you are one artist who needs Beatport, you pay $36 a year and get Content ID included. DistroKid starts at roughly $144.87 for Musician plus Beatport, before Content ID or legacy extras. LANDR Pro is $45 a year if your account qualifies for Beatport. Label Engine charges no subscription and keeps 17.5% of distribution revenue. RouteNote Free charges nothing upfront and keeps 15%, but it does not currently list Beatport.

You keep 90% of royalties. In return, the $36 annual subscription already covers the specialist stores, aliases, Content ID and workflow tools most independent EDM artists are comparing in the first place.

Why Kinjari is the best music distributor for EDM
-------------------------------------------------

With Kinjari, the EDM-specific parts aren't paid add-ons. Your $3 monthly Artist plan covers unlimited releases, [Beatport](/beatport-distribution), [Volumo](/volumo-distribution), [YouTube Content ID](/youtube-contentid), unlimited aliases and more than 100 mainstream platforms. You also get 20GB of storage, a release calendar, biolinks and analytics. You keep 90% of royalties, and your existing catalogue stays live if the paid subscription ends.

That is the combination to compare: specialist electronic stores, practical release tools and a low fixed price in the same plan. None of the other distributors here matches it for $3 a month.

Why Kinjari is the best-value Beatport option here
--------------------------------------------------

Beatport pricing is where headline distributor comparisons often go wrong. DistroKid's Musician plan is $24.99 per year in the US, but its [$9.99 monthly Beatport extra](https://support.distrokid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015641853-Sending-Your-Electronic-Music-to-Beatport) raises the minimum account cost to about $144.87 per year. The extra applies across eligible past and future electronic releases on the account, so it is not charged once for every single, but it remains a recurring account cost.

LANDR Distribution Pro is $45 per year and can provide Beatport access, but [LANDR requires an eligible annual plan and approval](https://support.landr.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000199987-Can-I-release-my-music-to-Beatport-with-LANDR-Distribution). Label Engine has no subscription fee, then keeps 17.5% of distribution revenue. RouteNote is free upfront on its Free model, but its public partner list does not currently include Beatport.

On the Artist plan, you pay $36 for a full year, with Beatport and Content ID already included. You keep 90% of royalties. That makes the bill easy to forecast before a release earns its first dollar, without a separate Beatport subscription or an account-level Beatport application.

LANDR: mastering and distribution in one subscription
-----------------------------------------------------

LANDR is worth considering when mastering is not an occasional extra but part of every release. Its Studio plans combine AI mastering, distribution, plugins, samples and online collaboration. The current entry price is advertised from $8.25 per month when billed annually, while standalone distribution is $24 per year for Basic or $45 per year for Pro.

On distribution alone, LANDR covers more than 150 stores, allows unlimited releases and passes through 100% of master royalties while the plan is active. LANDR also says releases stay live after cancellation. YouTube Content ID is available on the relevant paid distribution tiers.

There is an important Beatport condition. LANDR asks artists to be on an eligible annual plan, have at least one live LANDR release and apply for access. Approved independent releases appear under the LANDR Self-Released label name. That works, but it is different from opening an account and treating Beatport as a standard destination.

If you already pay for mastering, samples or production plugins, Studio can replace several bills and keep review files, masters and delivery closer together. If your masters are finished elsewhere and your main requirement is cheap specialist-store access, much of the Studio bundle becomes unnecessary.

Label Engine: an alternative for established labels
---------------------------------------------------

Label Engine charges no setup, release or subscription fee for distribution. Instead, you keep 82.5% of distribution royalties and Label Engine keeps 17.5%. The service is built around label accounting and administration.

Its real value is the surrounding label system: royalty accounting, artist statements, expenses and recoupment, demo management, promotional delivery, catalogue imports and detailed sales reports. [Label Engine lists Beatport among more than 100 stores](https://label-engine.com/digital-music-distribution.php), alongside Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and Traxsource.

If you run a functioning imprint with regular signings, royalty participants and DJ promo, those tools can save real administrative time. A solo producer with two releases a year is unlikely to use enough of them to justify the larger revenue share.

On the [Kinjari Label plan](/music-distribution-for-independent-labels), you pay a $39 monthly base, keep 90% of royalties and get Beatport, Volumo, 100GB of storage, unlimited team members and an artist approval workflow. If you want a lower revenue share, storage and an integrated roster workflow for your electronic label, Kinjari gives you the stronger all-round package.

DistroKid: a fixed-fee alternative for frequent releasers
---------------------------------------------------------

DistroKid charges a fixed annual subscription and passes through 100% of distribution royalties. The current US Musician plan is $24.99 per year for one artist. Musician Plus covers two artists, while Ultimate starts with five and expands through higher tiers.

For an EDM artist using Beatport, add $119.88 per year. That brings the one-artist total to roughly $144.87 before Content ID or legacy extras. With Kinjari, you pay $108.87 less per year and get Beatport and Content ID included. DistroKid's 100% royalty model may still appeal once a catalogue earns consistently, so compare the full account rather than the base prices.

DistroKid's Beatport extra covers eligible past and future electronic releases on the account, which suits a prolific singles artist. The Social Media Pack used for YouTube Content ID is priced per release and includes a 20% share of matched advertising revenue. Its [Leave a Legacy option](https://support.distrokid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013534274-What-Are-Album-Extras) is also purchased per release if you want that release protected from membership-related removal.

DistroKid is most relevant if you release often, value its 100% model and do not need Volumo or full label tools. Kinjari costs less before royalties and includes Beatport, Volumo and Content ID in the base Artist plan.

RouteNote Free: a no-upfront-cost starting point
------------------------------------------------

RouteNote Free is a sensible first step for an artist who has finished a debut track, wants Spotify and Apple Music, and is not yet sure whether paying for distribution makes sense. There is no upfront fee or annual subscription. RouteNote keeps 15%, leaving the artist with 85% of royalties.

Free and Premium use the same store network and core distribution features. Eligible original music can also be submitted to YouTube Content ID. RouteNote includes reporting and gives artists access to PUSH.fm tools such as smart links and pre-saves. Its Free model does not depend on an annual subscription to maintain a release.

The gap for an EDM artist is specialist-store distribution. RouteNote's [public partner overview](https://routenote.com/blog/what-types-of-stores-does-routenote-distribute-to/) currently lists major streaming, download, social and recognition services, but not Beatport or Volumo. It suits a new EDM artist building a mainstream presence, not one whose release plan starts with Beatport DJs.

Premium starts at $10 for a single, $20 for an EP and $30 for an album, followed by a $9.99 annual renewal per release. It lets the artist keep 100%. Once several Premium releases accumulate, compare the renewal total with an unlimited-release subscription.

What the prices look like for real EDM artists
----------------------------------------------

### One artist, six singles a year, Beatport required

With Kinjari, you pay $36 for the year and keep 90% of royalties. DistroKid starts at about $144.87 for Musician plus the account-wide Beatport extra and passes through 100% of distribution royalties. LANDR Pro costs $45 and passes through 100%, provided the artist qualifies for and receives Beatport access. Label Engine has no fixed distribution fee but keeps 17.5%. RouteNote Free has no fixed fee but is not a Beatport option on its current public store list.

Kinjari gives you the lowest stated subscription cost among the direct Beatport options here, with Content ID included. Royalty percentages matter more as income grows, but they do not erase the immediate $108.87 gap with DistroKid.

### Three aliases, regular releases and original YouTube content

You stay on the $3 monthly Artist plan because unlimited aliases and Content ID are already included. DistroKid requires enough artist slots for all three names, which moves the account beyond Musician Plus, plus the Beatport extra and per-release Social Media Packs. LANDR does not publish the same numbered slot ladder, while its wider Studio value depends on whether you use mastering and production tools.

Here, a release calendar, storage and one Content ID arrangement may matter more than shaving a few dollars from the base fee.

### If you run an established EDM label

**Kinjari Label is the clearer fit.** You pay $39 a month for up to 200 catalogue tracks and keep 90% of royalties. You can invite unlimited team members, let artists submit releases for approval, generate royalty split reports, track advances and recoupment, apply for your own branded Beatport label, distribute to Volumo and store 100GB of label files.

Label Engine uses a different pricing model. There is no fixed distribution fee, but it keeps 17.5% of revenue. It also includes accounting, promo and demo tools.

With Kinjari, you pay a predictable monthly fee, keep a larger share of royalties and manage your electronic-store distribution and label workflow in one account.

Choose from the release plan you actually have
----------------------------------------------

1. **List the stores you genuinely need.** If Beatport is essential, remove any option that cannot confirm access for your account and genre.
2. **Price the useful plan.** Include Beatport, Content ID, artist slots and annual renewal fees.
3. **Estimate annual royalties.** Compare the distributor's percentage with the fixed fees you avoid or add.
4. **Check label naming.** Decide whether a distributor or self-released label name is acceptable on Beatport.
5. **Read the cancellation rules.** A catalogue should not become an emergency project because a subscription changes.
6. **Choose the workflow you will use.** Mastering, storage, royalty statements and roster approvals only have value if they replace real work.

Do this with your next twelve months in mind. You can switch music distributors without treating every track as a brand-new release, but a careful choice now avoids a catalogue move later.

Frequently asked questions
--------------------------

### What is the best music distributor for EDM?

Kinjari is the best overall choice for an independent EDM artist who wants Beatport, Volumo, Content ID and unlimited aliases in one $3 monthly plan. Other distributors take different pricing or workflow approaches, but none matches that combination at Kinjari's price.

### Which music distributors deliver to Beatport?

You get Beatport distribution with either Kinjari paid plan. DistroKid offers it as a $9.99 monthly Album Extra. LANDR offers it to approved accounts on eligible annual plans. Label Engine includes it for approved labels. RouteNote's current public partner list does not name Beatport.

### Can an independent artist release on Beatport?

Yes. You need a distributor with Beatport access and an eligible electronic release. On the Kinjari Artist plan, your release appears under the Kinjari label name. On the Label plan, you can apply for your own branded Beatport label.

### What is the cheapest distributor for Beatport?

Kinjari is the cheapest straightforward Beatport subscription here at $3 a month, and that price also includes Content ID, unlimited releases and unlimited aliases. LANDR requires an eligible annual plan and approval, while DistroKid charges a separate $9.99 monthly Beatport extra.

### Does YouTube Content ID matter for EDM artists?

It can. Eligible original tracks may appear in DJ uploads, mixes, short-form videos and other user-generated content. Content ID can identify those uses and monetise them, but samples, non-exclusive beats and uncleared material may not qualify.

### Should an EDM label use an artist distribution plan?

Not once your roster creates regular admin. On Kinjari Label, you get artist submission approvals, unlimited team access, royalty split reporting, recoupment tools and the option to apply for your own branded Beatport label.
